Birthday Sessions Revamp!

It’s been on my heart for awhile now that I only wish to offer birthday session set-ups that fully represent my creative style and brand. I have captured A LOT of cake smashes over the years, and I have discovered that themes, elaborate setups, tutus, or a multitude of colours are just not my style. In an effort to keep budget in check while also staying true to imagery that is consistent and represents the style that I wish to provide my clients, I’ve decided to slightly revamp our First Birthday Cake Smash portrait offerings.

Our cake smash sessions will continue to be a full service option. The set-up, cake, and clean-up is left all up to me!

So, what can you expect when you book your little one’s First Year session with Defining Moments Photography?
Simple, timeless, and visually pleasing set-ups that will not distract from that beautiful babe of yours! I love a white backdrop, with some simple decor and a simple white cake (or naked cake). Each session will continue to be customized within the parameters of the given options.

Moving forward - there are now select options for the set choices that clients can choose from, and within each option, I will provide the styling for the session. Clothing is also an important element in any portrait session, and that is why I have curated a selection of outfit options that clients can select from at the time of the session.

All Cake Smash sessions will continue to include the follow-up bath, if desired.

The set options and examples of each are highlighted below:

Simple Neutrals | styled with a neutral backdrop and simple neutral or subtle toned banner; cake stand + topper with a white textured cake, and outfit of choice from the studio wardrobe.

Simple Florals or Greenery | styled with a neutral backdrop and the addition of simple greenery or floral decor; cake stand + topper, and a white or naked cake; outfit of choice from the studio wardrobe

Balloon Banner | (Add $40 to the package fee for materials and time) Created in neutral or complimentary tones; cake stand, topper, and white cake; outfit of choice from studio wardrobe.

*Please note - a lot of planning and prep goes into these sessions. Since coordinating of dates is also involved with the cake vendor, these sessions are typically booked approximately a month in advance.
